The Never Empty Plate

Ben had just finished his 7 course meal yet he wanted MORE!
‘I’m hungry’ whined Ben.
‘STILL? You just finished eating dinner!’ cried mum
‘Pleeeeeeeeeease’ Ben persisted
‘Fine!’ said mum.
Mum walked to the kitchen, her eyes gleaming.
She came back with one sandwich in her right hand.
‘I want MORE than one!’
Mum produced a porcelain plate from behind her; on the plate it said “Mai Vuota, Sempre Pieno”
‘What does this mean?’ Ben asked, pointing to the writing
Mum glanced at it
‘I think it means never…empty, always…full, in Italian’
‘Weird saying on a plate’ said Ben, frowning
Mum didn’t reply, only smiled
She lay the plate down, placing the sandwich on top
Ben stared in confusion.
‘Wait!’ said mum
She walked back to the office, chuckling.
‘She’s gone mad!’ Ben muttered
He rubbed his eyes tiresomely when he heard a bang, opening his eyes, a pile of cheese sandwiches appeared!
Ben ate until the whole plate was empty then there was another bang, so another pile came, Ben kept on eating...
The next POP...was Ben
Mum went to check on Ben, only finding a sandwich on his bed
‘Hmm! I am peckish’ and ate the Ben sandwich.
